about

Hi - I'm Megan, a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill studying Journalism. As graduation approaches, I am unsure of what the future holds. One thing I am certain of is my passion - vegan baking. Although it can have its trying times - read about that here - it is also my love.

Why vegan, you ask? Well, as an environmental science minor I have read and been educated about the state of our future world. The truth is, population is growing and essential resources are shrinking. A great number of these resources, water to name one, are used over abundantly in the meat and dairy industry. Even though I am not a 100 percent vegan, nor a 100 percent vegetarian, I think small changes in your diet can make a difference in the long run. If I'm going to bake, why not do so without milk and eggs? In my experience, it's easier and tastier.

So what should you expect from this blog? Mainly my baking adventures, many inspired by the queens of vegan baking - Isa Chandra Moskowitz, Kelly Peloza and Doron Petersan, among others. Also, I'll introduce you to my other passions - running and animals. Be on the lookout for running tips and cute pics of animals.

I look forward to sharing my adventures with each and every one of you. Also, please send me feedback - I'd love to hear from you.

Much baking love,

Megan

  1. Hi Megan! Thank you for stopping by my blog - I am SO HAPPY to hear that you are a fellow Tar Heel too! I was a member of the Marching Tar Heels and was a Granville girl. Go Heels!

    1. Eva, that's amazing! I found out we have another similarity - we both play flute! I haven't played for awhile, but it's fun to see we share many of the same experiences. Thanks for coming by and I look forward to what you bake next!
